Energy Conservation Tips

Everything we do throughout our day uses some form of energy. Energy conservation refers to adapting the way we complete the things we need to do so that we can get more done and have more energy that lasts throughout the day.

By following the 4 P’s, you can save your energy to participate in the things that you like to do while still completing the things that you have to do.

What are the 4 P’s?

  • Planning: Plan out the things you need to do for the week. Don’t try to get it all done in one day! Spread out the heavy and tiring tasks throughout the week.

  • Prioritizing: Make a list of the things you need to get done. Identify the tasks that are most important and the tasks that can wait.

  • Pacing: Allow yourself lots of time to finish an activity! Keep a slow and steady pace, don’t rush. Listen to your body and rest before you become tired. Take enough rest before starting the next activity.

  • Positioning: Avoid poor and awkward postures while completing your activities. When possible, complete your tasks in a seated position.
